Fascism does have an appeal to the working class, but it lures in the middle class, particularly answering their fears of status loss. It's really anti-capitalism for the beaten down middle class of small business owners and middle managers. Interesting to look at the J6 defendants and their occupations--middle class is very over-represented. Working class less so.
