Movie making is a business. And the early Jewish moguls were incredible businessmen. There were of course other incredible non-Jewish movie makers --Zanuck, Disney, RKO, United Artists, and more. The point that is not made but should have been is that criticisms of Hollywood Jewish influence and power act as a distraction from more serious issues with US business and capitalism. What Chappelle gets completely wrong is who we really don't talk about: the 01% who have true power. Any list of the wealthiest US families looks more than a little different than the imaginings of the crazed conspiracists: Cox, Koch, Mars, Johnson, Duncan, Walton. Rather than trying to deal with the astonishing concentration of wealth and the abuses it brings, it's more politically convenient to focus on "the Jews".
