Ms. Hutchinson performs a great public service by explaining to the nation what it’s like working in a dysfunctional office for a nutso CEO. Tech and startup employees will definitely relate to her.

It’s a remarkable experience to read through the recently released depositions of Cassidy Hutchinson, the star witness for the January 6th Committee back in September. As you may recall, Hutchinson single-handedly torpedoed Trump and his cronies’ innocent explanations of their extra-curricular activities in late 2020 and early 2021 — i.e., the coup attempt.

I wasn’t so much interested in the palace intrigue aspect of her words — which are incredibly damming — but instead her reminiscences of working at a dysfunctional office environment ruled over by a narcissistic rage-prone CEO.

Hutchinson’s testimony can be read as a a classic work saga in which the protagonist ultimately realizes the office she toils at ain’t what it seems. She starts out as a somewhat innocent but hard-working and very conscientious employee who wants to believe she’s part of a worthy cause. Her journey involves the painful discovery that she’s been badly exploited, and then discarded like a used Nespresso pod.

Cassidy Hutchinson: Hero to office workers everywhere.

By the end, she starts to see her co-workers and immediate manager — paging Mr. Meadows — as selfish, cowardly…
